Reasons behind disability claim rejections-Part II

Social Security Disability benefits are crucial for many disabled people in Tennessee and throughout the United States. However, many people know that SSD benefit claims are often rejected by the Social Security Administration. A previous post here discussed some of the reasons why those claims are rejected. In addition to the reasons mentioned in that post, such as work credits, income, type of disability and ability to work, there are certain other reasons why the SSA can reject a claim.

A common reason behind claim rejections is lack of proper documents related to income, workers' compensation benefits and medical records. While it is true that the issue can be addressed if a claimant is an expert at recordkeeping, the fact remains that collecting the many documents that the SSA requires before it approves a claim is often difficult. In fact, even after collecting the documents, failure to explain those documents can be another reason to reject a claim.

Sometimes, even after submitting all necessary documents, the claimant sees that the claim was postponed or rejected. That may be because of a technical error, which is possible both at the applicant's end and at the SSA's end. Technical errors in this case mean common mistakes that any human being can make. Also, another reason for the failure to obtain SSD benefits is the lack of patience. Applicants need to remember that the SSA has a large number of claims pending and it may take some time before the applicant's claim is processed. During that time, it is important to be patient.

Many Tennessee residents may realize that applying for SSD benefits is not as simple as it seems. But, getting more information about the application process may be a helpful start.
